Website Design and Development in Kolkata
Art Story Originals designs and builds websites for businesses in Kolkata, across India and worldwide. We make WordPress sites, custom-coded sites and online shops that are clear, easy to use on a phone and ready for Google to read.
You never need to visit an office: we work online only, over phone, WhatsApp and video calls. Your first consultation is free. After it, you get a quote worked out for your project alone.
What we build
WordPress websites: a good fit if you want to add pages, posts and photos yourself from a simple dashboard.
Custom-coded websites: built from scratch when you need a particular design, or features a ready-made theme cannot handle.
Online shops: e-commerce sites with product pages and online payments, so customers can browse, choose and pay in one place.
Need an app or business software as well? See app and software development.
Easy to use on a phone
Many people will open your website on a phone, often in a hurry. So we plan every page to work on a small screen as well as on a tablet or computer.
That means buttons big enough to tap, text you can read without zooming, and your phone number and WhatsApp button easy to find.
What comes with your website
Along with the design and build, your website comes with:
Domain and hosting: we help you set up your domain name and hosting. You own them.
SSL (https) and business email: the padlock in the browser bar, and email addresses on your own domain.
Basic SEO setup: page titles, page descriptions, a sitemap and Google Search Console, so Google can find and read your pages.
Maintenance after launch: we look after your site once it is live. The details are set out in your project quote.
No one can promise a fixed position on Google; we do the work search engines look for and show you what changed. For SEO work after launch, see digital marketing and SEO.
How a website project runs
Free consultation: we talk about your business, your customers and what the site needs to do.
Quote: we agree the pages and features, and you get a quote for the whole project. Work starts once you say yes.
Design and build: we share the site online as it takes shape. You check it on your own phone or computer, send comments, and we make changes.
Launch: the site goes live on your domain, your business email is connected and your sitemap is submitted to Google Search Console.
After launch: maintenance, plus SEO, ads and social media if you want them.
Websites we have made
Two examples from our portfolio:
A clinic website for MCR Super Speciality Polyclinic & Pathology.
A school website for M.C. Roy Foundation School, with an AI chatbot and a WhatsApp button.
You can see both, along with our social media creatives and ad films, on our portfolio page.
What decides the cost
Every website is different, so we quote each one after the free consultation. These things shape the quote:
Pages: a small site takes less work than one with many service or product pages.
Features: for example online payments, enquiry forms or product catalogues.
Extras: such as a WhatsApp button or a chatbot.
Content: whether you send the text and photos, or want us to create them.
Type of build: WordPress, custom-coded or an online shop.
You see the quote before any work begins.
Frequently asked questions
Who owns the domain and hosting?
You do. We help you set them up for your business, and your website runs on them.
Can I edit the website myself?
Yes, if you want to. WordPress sites have a dashboard for changing text, photos and posts without code. For a custom-coded site, tell us in the consultation which parts you would like to edit, and we will talk through the options.
Do you build online shops?
Yes, with product pages and online payments. Tell us what you sell and how you deliver, and we will suggest a setup that suits your business.
Do you work with clients outside Kolkata?
Yes. We are based in Joka, Kolkata, but we work online only, so it makes no difference where you are in India or abroad.
What happens after launch?
We carry on with maintenance; the details are set out in your project quote. If you want more visitors, we can also run SEO, ads and social media for you.
